The idea

The mark started as a pencil sketch: a whole-note head with a slur rising over it. Read one way it is a note; read another it is a mountain, or the letter A. The wordmark is lowercase Avant Garde, whose geometric circles echo the note-head.
Use the horizontal lockup by default. Use the vertical lockup for square and portrait formats. Use the icon alone at 32px and below, or where the name already appears in text.

Rules
DoKeep clear space equal to the height of the note-head on every side.
DoMinimum height: 24px on screen, 12mm in print, for the horizontal lockup. Icon alone below that.
DoUse the SVG for anything digital. PNG for places that cannot render SVG. EPS for print vendors.
Don'tRecolor the mark outside the four colorways, add gradients, shadows, or outlines.
Don'tSet the name in any font as a substitute for the wordmark, or place the icon and name in a new arrangement.
Don'tPlace the logo on copper, gold, or a busy photo without the navy scrim.
The old crescent mark and its favicons in the product repo are retired. Regenerate favicons from
Logo/Icon Logo/Midnight/APZ_Midnight_Logo_Icon.svg.
